CARRY ON, 50 YEARS ON

Carry On films celebrate a 50th Anniversary this year.  Here is an article in The Times and commentary in the Daily Telegraph by Jim White.  I never knew until now that there was talk of "Carry on Doctor Who" in the early 1990s, which would have no doubt really put the last nail in the coffin of the long-running sci-fi franchise.
